COMPARISON
Front pricing per seat, with Autopilot and Copilot
Front’s Starter, Professional and Enterprise prices per seat, what Autopilot and Copilot add, and what one to five people pay, read on 8 October 2026.
Published
Front pricing is per seat, per month, across three plans. Starter is $25 a seat a month billed yearly, or $35 monthly, for up to 10 seats. Professional is $65 a seat billed yearly, or $85 monthly, for up to 50 seats. Enterprise is $105 a seat and is sold on yearly billing only. The AI costs extra. Autopilot, Front’s AI agent, charges each conversation by the outcome it reaches, from $0.05 to $0.89, and Copilot is $20 a seat a month on Starter and Professional. We read every figure in US dollars on Front’s pricing page and in its help centre on 8 October 2026.
Deacon, which we make, is a different kind of tool. It’s an AI customer support agent that answers your customers on your website in seconds, from your own docs, and shows you what they keep asking for. It fits a founder who answers support alone better than a team sharing an inbox, and there’s a free plan with no card.
Front’s three plans, seat by seat
Every Front plan includes the shared inbox and ticketing. What changes from plan to plan is how many seats you can buy, how many kinds of channel you can connect, and how far the rules, reports and AI go.
| Plan | A seat a month, billed yearly | A seat a month, billed monthly | Seats | Channels | What the plan brings |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $25 | $35 | Up to 10 | One channel type, email, Front Chat or SMS | Shared inbox and ticketing, AI Topics, up to 10 automation rules, basic analytics kept for 6 months, and 1 public knowledge base |
| Professional | $65 | $85 | Up to 50 | Every channel type together, which Front lists as email, SMS, social, WhatsApp and more | Macros and up to 20 rules, advanced analytics kept for 24 months, up to 5 workspaces, SSO and SCIM, ticket SLAs and a customer portal |
| Enterprise | $105 | Not offered | No limit given | The same as Professional | Unlimited rules and macros, smart rules that use data from other systems, a knowledge base in several languages, custom roles, and Copilot, Smart QA and Smart CSAT included |

Every figure and feature here is on Front’s pricing page, in its plan cards and its plan comparison. The page opens on yearly billing, under a switch marked “Save 24%”. By our sums that’s Professional’s saving, $65 against $85. Starter’s yearly price is about 29% under its monthly one, $25 against $35, and Enterprise has no monthly price to set it against.
Front’s FAQ on the same page fills in how seats work. A seat is a paid licence for one person. A plan covers the whole organisation, so you can’t put some people on Starter and others on Professional. You can add or remove seats within your plan. Paying by bank transfer or ACH needs yearly billing and a contract worth over $12,000, and Front requires an onboarding package on contracts over $25,000.
Starter takes one channel
Starter connects a single channel type. Front’s FAQ says that’s one of email, Front Chat or SMS, and that connecting several types starts on Professional. So if you want customers to email you and chat on your website, both inside Front, the plan to price is Professional, at $65 a seat billed yearly. SMS comes in through providers such as Twilio and Dialpad, which the comparison names as the way in.
Front Chat is Front’s live chat for your website or app. On Starter it’s yours only if chat is the one channel you pick, and the comparison’s note on the chat widget says “Customers on our Starter plan will have non-removable Front branding on their chat widget.” The same goes for the knowledge base, whose note says Starter customers “will have non-removable Front branding on their knowledge base footer”.
Each seat also brings room for channels. Front’s channel limits article allows 10 a seat on Starter, 30 on Professional and 50 on Enterprise, counting shared and personal ones, so five seats on Professional can connect up to 150.
Autopilot, billed by what it achieves
Autopilot is Front’s AI agent, and it’s an add-on on all three plans. It works in shared inboxes, on channels including email, SMS, WhatsApp, Slack and the customer portal. On your website it answers through Resolve, a chat that comes with the add-on. Front charges each conversation once, at the highest of three levels Autopilot reached in it, and sets out the rates in its Autopilot article, last edited on 5 October 2026.
| Level | What Front counts | A conversation |
|---|---|---|
| Triage | Sorting a conversation, such as routing, summarising or tagging it, with no draft or reply | $0.05 |
| Handoff | A draft, reply or action by an AI agent that’s meant for your team to take over | $0.39 |
| Resolution | A conversation settled with no reply from your team | $0.89 |

The same article explains the rest of the bill.
- When a resolution counts. A conversation is resolved when no teammate follows up within 24 hours on Resolve, SMS, WhatsApp and custom channels, or within 72 hours on email and the portal.
- How you pay. It’s pay as you go, invoiced monthly for what Autopilot did. Volume discounts are prepaid commitments.
- Keeping it in check. Billing settings show an estimate of the month so far. To agree a maximum number of conversations, you contact Front.
- What’s free. You aren’t charged when Autopilot fails for a technical reason on Front’s side.
- The trial. Autopilot has its own 30-day trial, with every level and up to 1,000 resolutions. When it ends, its rules, Playbooks and Resolve channels stop unless you choose to pay.
- Languages. Front says only English is optimised so far, and other languages may give unexpected results.
By our sums, a month in which Autopilot resolves 60 conversations and drafts replies in another 40 for your team to take over costs $53.40 plus $15.60, or $69, on top of the seats.
Resolve is the part a founder with a website meets first. You embed it as a sidebar or floating widget, or link to a page Front hosts, and Front’s Resolve article says it answers from the knowledge sources and Playbooks you connect. When a customer needs a person, they can leave an email address, which Resolve confirms with a 6-digit code unless your app has already signed them in, and Resolve opens a ticket with a summary of the chat so far. When your team replies, the customer gets an email with a link to the conversation.
Copilot and the AI on every plan
Copilot is AI for your team rather than your customers. Front’s pricing page says it surfaces account signals, plans next steps and drafts replies, and the Autopilot article adds that a teammate reviews what it writes before anything is sent. It’s $20 a seat a month as an add-on for Starter and Professional, and included in Enterprise. The page doesn’t say whether that price changes with yearly billing.
Some of Front’s AI costs nothing extra on any plan. The comparison lists these on Starter, Professional and Enterprise alike.
- AI Topics, which reads your conversation history to show why customers get in touch.
- Compose, Translate and Summarize, for polishing drafts, translating and summing up conversations, each up to 200 a teammate a day.
- Compass, which reviews how your AI agents perform, along with connections for outside AI agents and an MCP server that lets AI tools reach your conversations.
Smart QA and Smart CSAT, which score your team’s work and estimate how satisfied customers are without a survey, come with Enterprise only. AI help desks sets Front’s per-level charges beside the way ten other helpdesks bill their AI.

Front’s knowledge base comes with every plan and grows with it. Starter has 1 public knowledge base of up to 1,000 articles, Professional up to 2 with 5,000 articles, and Enterprise up to 50 with 10,000. A custom domain and drafting articles with AI start on Professional, and a knowledge base in several languages on Enterprise. The best knowledge base software for small teams ranks eight help centre tools, if that’s the part you need.
Front’s 14-day trial
Front’s pricing page lists no free plan. Its FAQ offers a 14-day free trial with every feature of Professional, and says “You do not need a credit card to start, continue, or complete your Front trial.” You can upgrade at any time during it. Autopilot’s 30-day trial is separate and starts from the Front AI page in your settings.
If you need something free that lasts, free ticketing systems compares the helpdesks whose free plans do.

Copilot adds $20 a seat on Starter and Professional, so three seats on Starter billed yearly with Copilot come to $135 a month. Autopilot goes on top of any row, at the rates above.
For a founder whose customers both email and chat on the website, the row to read is Professional, because Starter takes one channel. One seat billed yearly is $780 for the year before any Autopilot. If website chat is your only channel, Starter at $25 a seat billed yearly covers it, with Front’s branding on the widget.
Help Scout pricing, Zendesk pricing, Intercom pricing and Freshdesk pricing break down other helpdesks’ bills the same way. Help Scout alternatives sets Front beside five other tools a small team moves to, and the best customer service software for startups covers Front among eleven picks. Helpdesk automation sets Front’s rule limits beside other helpdesks’, plan by plan.
Deacon, when your customers ask on your website
Front is built for conversations that pass between people, with a seat for each of them and Autopilot billed by the conversation. When you answer support alone, the trouble is rarely passing work around. It’s the same few questions arriving on your website while you’re trying to build. Deacon takes those off your plate.
You add one script tag and give Deacon your docs, and its website chat widget answers each visitor in seconds, at any hour. It replies in the language the visitor writes in, from docs you wrote once, and Deacon’s multilingual chatbot page explains how. If your content doesn’t cover a question, Deacon says it doesn’t know rather than guessing, and asks for the visitor’s email.
When a visitor leaves their address or asks for a person, the conversation shows in Deacon’s dashboard at once. If nobody on your team has the dashboard open, the owners get an email about three minutes later. Your reply from the dashboard appears in the visitor’s chat while it’s open, under your first name and your company’s.
A question Deacon couldn’t answer from your docs stays in Conversations, with an Answer this button beside it. You write the answer, press Save & check, and Deacon shows the reply it now gives. When it answers, it also lists the other open questions your answer covers. Every answer you write becomes something Deacon answers from, so the more you answer, the less it needs you.
Deacon also shows you what customers want. Topics group the questions people ask, count how many asked each one, and mark a topic as a feature ask, a bug report or a how-to when one kind of question leads it. The same script runs website analytics, with visitors, sources, goals and JavaScript errors, and chatbot analytics covers the numbers worth reading.
Every feature is on every plan, and the plans differ only in answers, knowledge, pages read from your website and seats. The free plan gives you 50 answers a month and 1 seat, needs no card and has no end date. Deacon’s Starter plan, with 1,000 answers a month and 3 seats, costs $50 a month, or $40 a month billed yearly. Its Growth plan, with 4,000 answers a month and 10 seats, costs $150 a month, or $120 a month billed yearly. Nothing is billed past your plan’s answers, no plan upgrades itself, and no plan carries a “powered by” line, so there’s no badge to pay to remove.
Front pricing questions
Does Front have a free plan?
No. Front’s pricing page lists Starter, Professional and Enterprise, each priced per seat. What it offers instead is a 14-day trial with Professional’s features and no card, and Autopilot has a 30-day trial of its own.
How much does Front cost for one person?
Starter is $25 a month billed yearly, or $35 monthly, for one channel type. To run email and website chat together, one seat on Professional is $65 billed yearly or $85 monthly. Copilot adds $20 a month on either, and Autopilot is charged by the outcome it reaches in each conversation, from $0.05 to $0.89.
Can I pay for Front monthly?
Yes on Starter and Professional, at $35 and $85 a seat against $25 and $65 billed yearly. Enterprise is only sold yearly. Autopilot is invoiced monthly for what it did, whichever billing you choose.
Why does Front’s page say save 24%?
That’s Professional’s yearly discount, $65 against $85, rounded. On Starter the yearly price is about 29% lower, $25 against $35. Both sums are ours, from the prices on Front’s pricing page.
Can I mix plans in one Front account?
No. Front’s FAQ says plans are assigned to the whole organisation, so every seat is on the same plan. You can add or remove seats within it, up to 10 on Starter and 50 on Professional.
Is Deacon a Front alternative?
For a founder whose customers mostly ask on the website, often yes. Deacon answers the questions your docs cover and brings you the ones that need a person, in its own dashboard. What it won’t do is share an inbox between several people. It has no support inbox for email, no tickets, routing or assignment, no WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS or phone, and no helpdesk integrations, and it always declines questions about a visitor’s own account. If several people answer one email address together, Front does that job and Deacon doesn’t.
Try it on your own documentation
Add your help pages, ask it the question you know your docs cannot answer, and watch it say so.
The free plan covers 50 answers a month on one seat, and the paid plans are on the pricing page.
