What counts as an answer?
One reply Deacon writes to a visitor on your live site. A follow-up in the same conversation is another answer, which is why each card also gives a rough number of conversations. A reply where Deacon says it doesn’t know counts too. Chats in the Playground or from localhost never count, and neither does a reply that failed.
Run out of answers and nothing breaks.
Nothing is charged past your plan. Visitors get a short message saying Deacon can’t look into it right now and are asked for their email, unless they’ve already left it. You can still read and reply to every conversation. Answers start again when your next month begins, or the moment you upgrade.

Start on Free. It has every feature, so you can see what Deacon does on your own site before you pay anything. Move to Starter when your visitors ask more than the free answers cover, and to Growth when you’re sharing the replies with a team.

They count different things. The first is how much room Deacon has for everything it learns from, your site’s pages, files, pasted text and the answers you write. A page of docs takes about 15 KB. The second is how many pages Deacon can read from the web each month, for setup, a crawl, a link you add or a draft of your instructions. Re-fetching a page Deacon already has doesn’t use them, and nor do files, pasted text and written answers. The pages come back each billing month, and if they run out, Deacon tells you the day.

No. Your plan price is your bill. There’s no overage, no top-up and no per-resolution charge, and no plan upgrades itself. Every plan answers with the same model, so there are no credits that run out faster on a better one.
The free plan works as one, and it doesn’t end. You get 50 answers a month and every feature, with no card.
No, on any plan. The widget shows the small Deacon mark beside its greeting, and you can write your own greeting and set its colours to match your site.
Upgrades take effect straight away and are pro-rated, with your full new allowance from that moment. Yearly plans run their term. Moving down is a cancellation rather than a switch, and your plan runs to the end of what you’ve paid for.
The script takes a few minutes, or you can hand it to your coding agent. When you sign up, Deacon reads your home page and the pages visitors ask about first, like pricing and help, and can start answering within a minute or so. A file or a single page is ready to answer from as soon as it’s been read. On a paid plan you can crawl your whole site and tick the pages Deacon learns from.

It says so and asks for the visitor’s email. If they leave it, the conversation shows as unread and you get an email, and you reply from the dashboard. Write the answer once with Answer this, and it becomes part of what Deacon knows for next time.
