LiveChat pricing in 2026, per user and resolution
LiveChat’s Text plans at yearly and monthly prices, what its AI resolutions cost, what the older plans mean, and a small team’s month, read 14 October 2026.
Published
LiveChat pricing is per user, and new customers now buy Text plans. Essential costs $19 a user a month billed yearly, or $25 month to month. Growth costs $79 billed yearly, or $99 month to month, and Enterprise is priced on a call. Every plan comes with LiveChat’s AI agent, which is counted in AI resolutions. Essential comes with 10 of them a month and Growth with 200, and extra resolutions come 50 at a time for $49.50. So one person on Essential, billed monthly, whose AI resolves 60 chats a month pays $74.50, by our sums. LiveChat has no free plan, just a 14-day trial that asks for no card. We read every figure in US dollars on livechat.com on 14 October 2026.
The plans carry another name because LiveChat’s maker, Text, Inc., now sells its newer product on livechat.com. LiveChat’s FAQ calls Text “the next product from the team behind LiveChat”, with live chat, a shared inbox, ticketing and an AI agent in one workspace. If you already pay for LiveChat, nothing changes, and your plan, price and login stay as they are.
Deacon is our product, and it works the other way round. LiveChat gives a team a place to answer chats, with an AI agent beside them. Deacon is an AI customer support agent that answers your visitors itself, in seconds, from your own docs, and tells you what they keep asking for. It suits a founder with nobody free to watch the chat, and its free plan needs no card.
LiveChat’s plans and prices
LiveChat’s pricing page lists three Text plans. It opens on yearly billing, which you pay 12 months upfront, and a switch shows the monthly prices. Each price below is for one user, and the resolutions are a month’s allowance.

The page’s banner says yearly billing saves up to 24%. Its FAQ breaks that down as about 24% on Essential and about 20% on Growth, and works out that a five-person Growth team saves $1,200 over a year. LiveChat pitches Essential at “small teams earning their first revenue from chat” and Growth at “scaling teams that want chat to drive revenue”.
Every user who logs in to answer chats or tickets needs a seat. There’s no minimum team size, so a team of one can start on Essential, and neither Essential nor Growth has a fixed cap on users for what LiveChat calls self-service teams. LiveChat points larger teams, and ones that need custom limits, single sign-on or invoicing, to Enterprise, which it prices on a call.
What Growth adds to Essential
Both paid plans share the chat widget, the AI agent with human takeover, and an inbox with ticketing. LiveChat’s comparison table ticks website chat, in-app chat, a chat page, Messenger, Shopify and SMS through Twilio on every plan, and the page says WhatsApp and email land in the same inbox too. Most of the features for running a team start on Growth.

For a founder, two of those lines matter most. Chat topics, which LiveChat describes as “a weekly report with top customer questions and trending topics”, starts on Growth. So does unlimited history, since Essential keeps conversations and files for 60 days. The “Powered by Text” branding comes off only with Enterprise’s white-label widget.
What LiveChat’s AI agent costs
The AI agent is part of every Text plan, and LiveChat bills it by outcome rather than by message. Its FAQ says a resolution is when “the AI directly solved a customer question”, and several questions in the same chat still count as one. Essential includes 10 resolutions a month and Growth 200, and the allowance resets every month. Both plans also give the AI agent 10 custom skills, steps you define for it to carry out when a customer asks for something.
Past the allowance, you add packages of 50 from your billing settings, at $49.50 on Essential and on Growth. Text’s help article on AI resolutions, dated 29 September 2026, puts that at $0.99 a resolution and sets out what counts.
- A chat isn’t counted when no issue is solved, when the answer is irrelevant or incomplete, or when it’s a test, spam or not a real support case, such as a greeting.
- Passing the chat to a person without answering any of the customer’s questions isn’t counted.
- A ticket the AI opens because the customer asked for one counts. A ticket it opens as a fallback, when the customer asked for a person and nobody was there, doesn’t.
- A custom skill counts when it runs to the end and does what the customer asked, even when the result is an action rather than an answer.
- A package applies only to the billing cycle you buy it in, and unused resolutions don’t carry over.
Essential’s 10 resolutions cover about two a week, so on that plan the packages are most of what the AI really costs. LiveChat’s own example is ten users on Growth who need 350 resolutions a month. They pay $790 a month billed yearly, which includes 200, plus three packages for $148.50. We found nothing on livechat.com about what the AI agent does once a month’s resolutions and packages are used up. The help article’s title mentions an automatic refill, but its text doesn’t explain one, so ask LiveChat before you rely on it.
LiveChat’s older plans, for existing customers
LiveChat’s older plans now sit on a page of their own, LiveChat’s legacy pricing, for customers who already have them. The Text pricing page says nothing changes for those customers, and that they can run LiveChat and Text side by side while they decide.
| Older LiveChat plan | A person a month, billed yearly | A person a month, billed monthly | Visitors tracked | Chat history |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Enterprise is priced on a call there too. Starter allows one user. The plan card gives Team unlimited users, while the FAQ on the same page says Team and Business take up to 400. Business adds a work scheduler, staffing prediction, advanced and on-demand reporting, agent performance, and SMS and Apple Messages for Business.
Three things about the older plans are worth knowing before you compare.
- They don’t include the AI agent. LiveChat’s FAQ says the features on its Text pricing page are “not included in LiveChat plans, including legacy LiveChat subscriptions”, and that a customer who wants them can move to Text.
- You pay for every account, used or not. The legacy page’s FAQ says LiveChat charges “for every user account created, regardless of whether the user is logged in or not.”
- The discount the legacy page quotes doesn’t match its prices. Its FAQ, and LiveChat’s help article on choosing the right plan, say 12 months take 15% off. By our sums, the page’s own prices save about 24% on Starter, 17% on Team and 11% on Business.
That help article still describes Starter, Team, Business and Enterprise as the plans available, so a price you find there belongs to the older plans. LiveChat doesn’t match an old plan to a new one, either. Its FAQ says Text plans have a different feature mix and asks you to compare them against the features your team uses.
The trial, plan changes and the rest of the bill
The free trial runs for 14 days on Essential or Growth, with the full plan and no card. When it ends you choose a plan and billing period and add a payment method, and your chats and settings carry over. LiveChat says you’re never charged automatically when the trial ends, so there’s nothing to cancel if you walk away.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or add and remove users at any time, and a plan change takes effect on your next billing cycle.
- Monthly plans have no contract and can be cancelled any time. Yearly plans run for the 12 months you paid for and can be changed or cancelled at renewal.
- Past the included API calls, each 100,000 more cost $29.50.
- Some apps in LiveChat’s Marketplace charge fees of their own.
- Prices are before tax. Where LiveChat has to collect US sales tax, your ZIP code sets the rate, and businesses outside the US may pay VAT or a local equivalent.
- LiveChat takes the major credit cards, and Enterprise customers can pay by purchase order and annual invoice.
- Non-profits and educational institutions can ask about extra discounts before choosing a plan.

The AI is what moves a small team from one plan to the other. Growth includes 190 more resolutions than Essential, which would take four packages, $198, to buy. So for one person, once the AI resolves more than 60 chats a month, Growth costs less than Essential plus packages, by our sums. For two people the point is 110 chats. Past two, it depends on your billing and on how many chats the AI resolves, and LiveChat’s plan builder on the pricing page does the sum for your numbers.
Two founders and 100 resolutions a month
Take two founders on Essential, paying month to month, whose AI agent resolves 100 chats in a month. Here is their bill, worked out from LiveChat’s pricing page.
| What you pay for | The sum | A month |
|---|---|---|
| Two Essential seats | 2 × $25 | $50 |
| The first 10 resolutions | Included | $0 |
| The other 90 resolutions | 2 packages × $49.50 | $99 |

The two packages buy 100 resolutions, so 10 go unused, and they don’t carry over. Billed yearly, the seats drop to $38 and the month to $137. Growth would cost the pair $198 a month, or $158 billed yearly, with 200 resolutions included, so at 100 resolutions Essential is still the cheaper plan for them. At 120 it no longer is.
Which LiveChat plan to pick
- Essential, at $19 a user billed yearly, if one or two of you answer the chat and the AI resolves a few dozen chats a month. Plan around its 60 days of history.
- Growth, at $79 a user billed yearly, once the AI resolves more than about 60 chats a month for one person or 110 for two, or when you want chat topics, routing rules, shared canned responses and supervision.
- Enterprise, priced on a call, when you need the white-label widget, SSO, audit logs or SLAs.
- If you’re already on an older LiveChat plan, you can stay on it at the same price, without the AI agent. Tidio vs LiveChat explains how LiveChat and Text fit together, and LiveChat alternatives covers eight tools people move to instead.
When nobody is free to watch the chat
LiveChat’s bill is built around people in the chat. You pay for each one who logs in, and the AI agent works beside them, metered by the resolution. Deacon is built around the founder who is mostly somewhere else, building or selling. Its website chat widget answers visitors itself, from your docs, in seconds and in their own language, and then tells you what they needed. Here is how the two line up on what a founder tends to weigh, starting with what you learn from the chat.
| What you’re weighing | LiveChat | Deacon |
|---|---|---|
| What customers keep asking about | Chat topics, a weekly report of top questions and trending topics, from Growth up | Topics on every plan, the free one included, counting who asked and marking a topic a feature ask or a bug report when that kind of question leads it |

| A question the AI can’t solve | A chat where no issue is solved isn’t counted as a resolution | Deacon says it doesn’t know rather than guess and offers a box for the visitor’s email. The question waits under Unanswered with an Answer this button, and the answer you save is used for later visitors |
| What you pay for | Each user who answers chats or tickets, plus packages of 50 resolutions past the plan’s 10 or 200 | A plan’s answers, about 2 to a conversation, with nothing billed once a month’s are used |
| Putting it on your site | A code snippet, or a plugin for platforms such as WordPress, Shopify and Webflow | One script tag, and Install opens on the steps for Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Base44 when your home page shows one of them built it |
| When a visitor wants a human | Human takeover on every plan, with routing, supervision and taking over a teammate’s chat from Growth | A visitor who asks for a person or leaves an address shows in your dashboard at once, and their chat stays open for three days for your reply, which reaches them under your first name, as human handoff shows |

The first three rows are where the two differ most for someone answering support alone. LiveChat’s report of top questions comes weekly, and only from Growth up. Deacon’s Topics are on every plan, and they turn the chat into a list of what to build and what to fix. A gap in your docs becomes a job on that list too. Write the reply once, press Save & check, and Deacon asks itself the question again and shows you what it now says.
Deacon’s plans set a number of answers a month rather than a price for each person. The free plan has 50 answers a month and 1 seat, with no card and no end date. Starter is $50 a month, or $40 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 answers a month and 3 seats, and Growth is $150 a month, or $120 a month billed yearly, for 4,000 answers a month and 10 seats. Every feature, Topics included, is on all three, and no plan moves you up by itself. Where “Powered by Text” stays on LiveChat’s widget until Enterprise, Deacon shows no “powered by” line on any plan, so there’s no badge to pay to remove.
Chatbot vs live chat weighs a person in the chat against an AI that answers, and Freshchat pricing works through another per-agent chat tool whose AI is billed by the session.
Common questions on what LiveChat costs
Does LiveChat have a free plan?
No. Essential and Growth come with a 14-day free trial that doesn’t ask for a card, and you choose a plan when it ends. The cheapest plan is Essential, at $19 a user a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly.
How much does LiveChat cost for one person?
Essential is $25 a month on monthly billing, or $19 a month billed yearly, which is $228 for the year. It includes 10 AI resolutions a month. If the AI resolves 60 chats, one package of 50 brings the month to $74.50 on monthly billing. Once it resolves more than 60, Growth costs less, at $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, with 200 resolutions.
Is LiveChat’s AI agent included in the price?
Yes, on every Text plan, with 10 AI resolutions a month on Essential and 200 on Growth. Each package of 50 more costs $49.50, which is $0.99 a resolution. Customers on an older LiveChat plan don’t have the AI agent, and LiveChat says they can move to Text to get it.
Why does LiveChat’s pricing page show Text plans?
Because LiveChat’s pricing for new trials now lives there as Text plans. Text is the newer product from the company behind LiveChat, with live chat, a shared inbox, ticketing and an AI agent in one workspace. Existing LiveChat customers keep their plan, price and login, and the older plans are on LiveChat’s legacy pricing page.
What do LiveChat’s older plans cost?
On the legacy page, Starter is $19 a person a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly, for one user. Team is $49 or $59, and Business $79 or $89. They’re for customers who already have them, and they don’t include the AI agent.
Can I pay for LiveChat monthly?
Yes. Essential is $25 a user a month and Growth $99 on monthly billing, against $19 and $79 billed yearly. Monthly plans can be cancelled any time, while a yearly plan runs for the 12 months you paid for.
Is Deacon a LiveChat alternative?
It depends on what you use LiveChat for. If it’s there so visitors get an answer when nobody’s online, Deacon does that job itself and hands you the chats that need a person. If LiveChat is how your team sells, it isn’t a swap. LiveChat lets you watch live visitors, send campaigns and invite visitors to chat, while Deacon never opens a chat by itself and takes no action in other systems, such as a shop. Nor is Deacon built for a team working shifts. LiveChat’s Growth plan adds routing rules, working hours and chat supervision, and its inbox takes website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS and email. Deacon has no routing or rota, and it answers only in the chat on your website.
