Kajabi chatbot options, from Expert Agents to code
What Kajabi’s own Expert Agents cost and where they run, which Kajabi field takes another chatbot’s code, and how to add Deacon to your site and courses.
Published
Kajabi now has chatbots of its own. Its Expert Agents answer prospects on your sales pages and students inside your courses, priced per agent each month and running only on pages Kajabi hosts. You can also paste another company’s chatbot into Header Page Scripts, under Settings › Site details, which adds it to your site’s pages. We read Kajabi’s help centre and each chatbot’s pricing page on 23 September 2026.
Deacon is an AI customer support agent that goes onto a Kajabi site as one line in Header Page Scripts. It answers your prospects and students in seconds from your own pages, and it shows you what they ask about most, so you know what to fix and what to make next. The free plan gives you 50 answers a month, needs no card and has no end date.
Kajabi’s Expert Agents, and what they cost
Kajabi’s Expert Agents overview describes two kinds of agent.
- A Sales Agent sits on your landing and sales pages and answers prospects from your offer details, pricing and product descriptions.
- A Teaching Assistant sits inside a product, such as a course or coaching, and answers members from the lessons, transcripts and community posts they can access. Each member only gets answers from what their own product gives them.
Kajabi prices them per agent, per month, and each agent includes 1,000 messages and 250 AI credits a month. An agent bought between 1 August and 30 September 2026 costs $49 a month, with the rate locked for 12 months and 30% off each agent when you buy more than one. After 30 September the rate is $79 an agent. Those prices come from the help centre, because Kajabi’s pricing page still lists Expert Agents as coming soon. So a Sales Agent for your sales pages and a Teaching Assistant for one course are two agents.
The overview sets out a few limits too.
- Agents render only on Kajabi-hosted pages, so they can’t go on a site you run anywhere else.
- Adding one needs Builder 2.0 and a recent theme, such as Encore 2.14.7, Premier site 6.5.2 or Premier Product 7.10.3.
- They reply in text only, in the language each person writes in.
Kajabi’s other AI, Cofounder, works for you inside the dashboard, drafting products, pages and emails, and doesn’t talk to your visitors. Creator.io, the chatbot Kajabi’s help centre still has setup guides for, is now part of Kajabi, and its site says new sign-ups are paused.
Other Kajabi chatbots, and what you get free
Boei and DocsBot both have pages about Kajabi that rank for “kajabi chatbot”. Here’s what each gives you before you pay, beside Kajabi’s own agents, from their pricing pages on 23 September 2026.
| Chatbot | Where it runs | What’s free |
|---|---|---|
| Kajabi Expert Agents | Kajabi-hosted pages, placed in the theme editor | No free allowance is listed. $49 an agent a month for agents bought by 30 September 2026, then $79, each with 1,000 messages a month. |
| Boei | Its script, pasted into your site | A 7-day trial, not a free plan. Starter is $19 a month billed yearly or $25 monthly, with 2,000 AI credits, one per AI reply. Its branding comes off with a $14-a-month add-on, or on Business, at $129 a month billed yearly or $179 monthly. |
| DocsBot | Its script, pasted into your site | Free for personal use, with 100 AI credits a month. Its plan table promises a free bot “No 30-day expiry”, but its terms say a free bot’s data may be deleted 30 days after it’s made. Personal is $41 a month billed yearly or $49 monthly, and DocsBot’s branding comes off on Business, at $499 a month. |
| Deacon | One line in Header Page Scripts | 50 answers a month from your own pages, with no card and no end date. Every feature is included, and there’s no badge to pay to remove. |

Each counts something different. Kajabi counts messages for each agent, Boei spends a credit on each AI reply, and DocsBot’s credits go faster on bigger AI models. Deacon counts answers, one per reply, and a conversation takes about 2 of them, so 50 answers covers about 25 conversations. The best AI chatbots for customer service compares more of them on price and handover.
Where a chatbot’s code goes on Kajabi
Kajabi’s guide to custom code gives you one field for every page.
- From the Dashboard, open Settings.
- Under Site settings, click Site details.
- Under Page scripts, paste the code into Header Page Scripts.
- Click Save.
Kajabi adds that code to the head of every page on your website, except offer checkout pages and upsell pages. The guide names no plan for it. The code editor, which changes a template itself, is on the Pro plan only, and a chatbot doesn’t need it.
A page’s own JavaScript box won’t take a script tag
Each page’s Settings tab has a Custom JavaScript box too, but Kajabi’s guide says not to put <script> tags in it, so a chatbot’s snippet doesn’t belong there. For a chatbot on one page only, add a Custom Code block to a section of that page, which does take <script> tags.
Your courses have a field of their own
Course pages come from a product theme. Kajabi’s guide to adding a chat bubble to a course uses a separate box. Open Products and choose the course, open the Customize tab, click Customize on its theme, then go to Settings › Custom Code and paste the code into Embedded Scripts. Kajabi says that box needs Momentum 6.5.0 or Premier 7.4.0, or newer.
Checkout pages have their own code
Offer checkout pages skip Header Page Scripts. Kajabi’s checkout guide gives them Checkout Tracking Code instead, under Settings › Checkout, in Payment settings, and puts footer code at the end of each checkout page. It warns that code there can see the page’s content, so add only code you trust, and each offer’s Enhanced Checkout can switch it off.
Your mykajabi.com address
Kajabi’s guide to domains says your site stays open at its mykajabi.com subdomain after you connect your own domain. A chatbot that runs only on the domains you allow needs both listed, or it won’t show for anyone who arrives at the mykajabi.com address.
What Deacon does for a Kajabi business
Before people buy, they ask what’s in the course, whether it suits a beginner, when the next cohort starts and what your refund policy is. After they buy, they ask where to log in and why the reset email hasn’t come. Your sales pages and a short member FAQ answer most of it, but people ask you anyway, and every repeat question pulls you away from making the next thing. Deacon answers them in seconds, 24/7, from the pages you choose and in whatever language each person writes in. An answer taken from one of your pages often links to it.
Kajabi’s login troubleshooting guide makes a good start on that member FAQ. Members sign in at your site’s own login page, never at app.kajabi.com, and the email has to match their contact record exactly. Put the answers on a page or paste them in, and Deacon can give them for you.
When your content doesn’t cover a question, Deacon says it doesn’t know rather than guessing, and asks for the person’s email. It does the same with anything about one person’s own account, such as a purchase that hasn’t appeared, because it can’t see inside Kajabi. If they leave an address, or ask for a person, you get an email. Reply from Deacon’s dashboard, and if they still have the chat open, your reply appears there under your name.
Then Deacon gets better. Every question your content didn’t cover waits in the dashboard with an Answer this button, and what you write becomes part of what Deacon knows. It can answer the next person who asks, so the more you answer, the less often you’re needed.
You also get customer insights from everyone who asks, not only the few who email. Every conversation is saved and searchable by what people asked. Topics groups the questions, counts how many people asked and labels most of them, such as a pricing question, a how-to or a feature ask. A cluster of questions about one module shows you what to explain better, and a run of requests for something you don’t teach yet shows you what to make next. The same line counts your visitors, where they came from and the goals they reach, on Analytics › Website.
The same line covers your sales pages and your courses, and Deacon goes wherever your site goes, on Kajabi or off it. Every feature is on every plan, the free one included, and there’s no badge to pay to remove. Nothing is billed past your plan’s answers, and no plan upgrades itself. The pricing page has the paid plans.
Adding Deacon to Kajabi
Deacon goes in through Header Page Scripts. The snippet it gives you looks like this, with your own key in place of the placeholder.
<script src="https://heydeacon.com/widget/v1/loader.js" data-key="pk_your_widget_key" async></script>
It takes a few minutes.
- Sign up with your email or Google. The free plan needs no card.
- On the Install page, add your own domain. Your first domain creates your snippet, and it covers your address with or without www. Add your mykajabi.com address as a second entry, so the chat shows there too.
- In Kajabi, go to Settings › Site details, paste the snippet into Header Page Scripts and click Save. For the chat inside a course, paste the same line into Embedded Scripts in the course’s product theme too. Where a page loads it twice, the second copy does nothing.
- In Knowledge Sources, choose Add website and give Deacon your address. It lists the pages it finds, each one unticked. Tick your sales pages, FAQ, refund policy and any blog posts that answer common questions. Save, then press Retrain agent.
- Deacon’s crawl can’t sign in, so it never sees your members’ area. Paste your member FAQ with Add text, including how to log in and how to reset a password.
- Ask it your customers’ questions in the Playground before anyone else sees it.
What to check after you save
These five checks take a couple of minutes.
- Open your site on your own domain in a private window, where you’re not logged in to Kajabi.
- Open a sales page and look for the chat button, then do the same on your mykajabi.com address.
- Look at the See it live card on the Install page. It says whether Deacon has been seen on your real domain, and Check again looks once more.
- Ask one question your pages answer and one they don’t. The first should get an answer, and the second an honest “I don’t know” with a box for an email address.
- Ask about a purchase of your own, such as a course that hasn’t appeared. Deacon should decline and ask for an email, so you can look it up in Kajabi.
Questions about Kajabi chatbots
Does Kajabi have its own AI chatbot?
Yes. Kajabi’s Expert Agents come in two kinds, a Sales Agent for your sales and landing pages and a Teaching Assistant for inside a product. Each is priced per agent, per month, and works only on pages Kajabi hosts. Kajabi’s Cofounder is an AI assistant for you, not your visitors.
How much do Kajabi’s Expert Agents cost?
Kajabi’s help centre gives $49 an agent a month for agents bought between 1 August and 30 September 2026, locked for 12 months, and $79 an agent after that. Each includes 1,000 messages and 250 AI credits a month. Kajabi’s pricing page still lists Expert Agents as coming soon.
Which Kajabi plan do I need to add a chatbot’s code?
Kajabi’s guide to custom code names no plan for Header Page Scripts. The code editor is Pro only, but it’s for changing templates, and a chatbot’s line doesn’t need it.
Can Deacon answer from my course lessons?
Not from inside Kajabi. Deacon’s crawl can’t sign in, so it learns from your public pages, files you upload, text you paste and the answers you write. It answers everyone from the same content, so give it what you’d happily tell any visitor, such as your member FAQ, and keep back the lessons people pay for. If you want answers drawn from each member’s own lessons, that’s what Kajabi’s Teaching Assistant is built for.
Why doesn’t the chat show on my checkout page?
Header Page Scripts skip offer checkout pages and upsell pages. To have the chat at checkout, add the same line as footer code in Checkout Tracking Code, under Settings › Checkout.
What happens when Deacon’s free answers run out?
The chat keeps working. A visitor who asks gets a short reply saying Deacon can’t look into that one right now, and is asked for an email unless they’ve already left one in that conversation. You can still read and reply to every conversation, nothing is billed and your plan doesn’t upgrade itself.
Try it on your own documentation
Add your help pages, ask it the question you know your docs cannot answer, and watch it say so.
The free plan covers 50 answers a month on one seat, and the paid plans are on the pricing page.
Free plan, no card.
