Base44 pricing, plans and what credits buy

Base44 pricing starts with a free plan and four paid ones. Starter is $20 a month, or $16 a month billed yearly. Builder is $50 or $40, Pro $100 or $80, and Elite $200 or $160. Each plan comes with two monthly allowances, message credits for building your app with Base44’s AI and integration credits for what the live app does, such as sending an email or replying in an in-app agent. We read every figure on Base44’s pricing page and in its docs on 25 September 2026.

Base44 changes its plans often. It moved custom domains down to Starter on 11 August 2026, and on 22 September it doubled what one of its AI models costs in integration credits, so check the date above before you budget.

Base44 pricing plans

The plans differ in credits and in a handful of features. You get the same credits whichever way you pay.

Base44 takes 20% off for yearly billing and charges the year up front, so Starter’s $16 a month is $192 at once. On Builder, Pro and Elite, only yearly billing adds a free domain for a year and 25 credits to share with a friend. The features are from the pricing page and Base44’s billing and plans docs, which list removing the badge from Starter and backend functions from Builder, two things the pricing cards leave out.

Elite’s card shows one size. The billing docs say Elite has a drop-down on the in-app Plans page for choosing the amount of credit, and the pricing page doesn’t show those sizes. Enterprise is priced through sales. Most people pay in US dollars, and a plan bought through Apple’s App Store is priced by Apple.

Message credits and integration credits

Base44 meters building and running separately. Its credits docs say message credits cover your building and integration credits cover your app’s live operations. Each kind is shared by every app and every member of your workspace.

Message credits go on prompts in the AI chat that plan, change or fix your app. Base44 gives rough ranges, about 0.5 for a simple text or style change, 1 for improving a small feature, 2 for adding a complex module and 3 to 4 for a change across the whole app. A message in Discuss mode, which talks an idea through without changing the app, is about 0.3. Dragging elements or editing text by hand in the visual editor costs nothing.

Integration credits go on Base44’s built-in services whenever your app uses them. These are the typical rates Base44 gives.

Base44 calls these estimates. The real cost is worked out after each action runs, there’s no way to preview it, and Base44 says billing can differ between workspaces. Each app’s usage page, under Dashboard, Overview and App usage, shows which sources spent its integration credits.

What the Base44 free plan gives you

Base44’s Free plan costs nothing and includes every core feature, among them sign-in, a database and analytics. It gives you 25 message credits a month, of which you can use at most 5 a day, and 100 integration credits, for up to 5 apps. The daily allowance resets at midnight in the workspace owner’s time zone, or at midnight UTC if no time zone is recorded or you aren’t the owner.

The limits show up in a few places.

• The automatic error fixes and Resolve with AI spend message credits on Free. On a paid plan they’re free.
• A public app carries the “Edit with Base44” badge at the bottom right, and anyone who clicks it can copy your app into their own account, by Base44’s quick start guide.
• New private apps need Starter or above, since 6 February 2026.
• Your app lives on its base44.app address, since custom domains start at Starter.
• In-app code edits start at Starter, so on Free your changes go through the AI chat and the visual editor.
• Analytics keeps 7 days of history and tracks up to 3 custom events.

What each paid Base44 plan unlocks

Each paid plan keeps what the plan below it has, and adds more.

• Starter adds unlimited apps, in-app code edits in the Code tab, private apps, a custom domain with 301 redirects, and removing the badge. Analytics keeps 30 days of history instead of 7, with no cap on custom events. Custom domains moved to Starter on 11 August 2026, by Base44’s changelog. Base44’s own post How much does Base44 cost?, dated 26 July 2026, still puts them on Builder.
• Builder adds backend functions, two-way GitHub sync and code export as a ZIP, choosing which AI model builds your app, and session recordings in analytics. Billed yearly, it adds the free domain for a year and 25 credits to share.
• Pro adds early access to beta features, and twice Builder’s credits.
• Elite adds premium support and automatic backups of your app’s data, kept for 7 days.

What happens when Base44 credits run out

When either kind of credit reaches zero, whatever needs it stops until your next reset.

• Out of message credits, you can’t send the AI chat anything new. Editing by hand in the visual editor still works, since it costs nothing.
• Out of integration credits, Base44 emails you and every action that needs them fails. Anyone using your app who sets one off, for example by signing up and triggering a welcome email, sees a generic error that doesn’t mention credits. An in-app agent’s replies need integration credits too, so they stop with everything else.

Credits don’t roll over. Unused monthly credits expire at the end of the cycle, and a paid plan resets on the day of the month you subscribed, at the time you bought it in UTC.

Base44 publishes no price for extra credits. Its docs mention credit top-ups once, in a note about disputed charges, and its credits page offers two ways out, waiting for the reset or upgrading. An upgrade takes effect as soon as you pay, and Base44 shows how your bill and your credits change before you confirm. You can’t cancel a plan and buy it again in the same cycle, so the billing docs suggest upgrading and then downgrading at the end of the cycle. Yearly fees are non-refundable.

What a real app costs on Base44

These are four months in the life of one app, from the first build to 2,000 users. The sums are ours, worked out from the typical rates in Base44’s credits docs, and each price is billed monthly first, then yearly.

Here’s what goes into each row.

• The MVP is 8 complex modules at about 2 credits each, 40 small features at about 1, 60 text and style changes at about 0.5 and 4 changes across the whole app at 3 to 4, which comes to about 100. That uses all of Starter’s message credits, and on the Free plan’s 25 a month it’s four months of building.
• The live month is 200 welcome emails, 400 file uploads and 600 LLM calls on the Automatic model at about 1 credit each, plus 40 message credits of fixes and small changes.
• The agent adds 1,000 replies at about 3 credits each, the starting rate on Automatic. That takes the month past Starter’s 2,000 integration credits.
• At 2,000 users the month is 2,000 emails from your own domain at about 2, 3,000 uploads and 5,000 LLM calls at about 1, and 2,000 agent replies at about 3. That’s 18,000, inside Pro’s 20,000.

The agent is the line that grows. On the Free plan, 100 integration credits cover about 33 agent replies at the starting rate, with nothing left over for emails, and a long answer costs more than 3.

None of these months include the services you connect with your own keys. Base44’s pricing FAQ says those, such as Stripe, SendGrid and OpenAI, bill you directly on their own pricing.

What a launched Base44 app still needs

Once the app is live, two jobs arrive that building it didn’t cover. People who try it have questions, and you need to know where they came from.

Base44’s answer to the first is an in-app AI agent, on every plan. Each reply spends integration credits from the same pool as your app’s emails and uploads, starting at about 3 on the Automatic model. People have to log in to your app before they can use one, unless you turn on anonymous access, and anonymous chats draw on the same pool. So a busy week of questions can use up the credits your app needs to send its emails.

Base44’s app analytics covers the second. It shows visits, unique visitors, pages, where people came from, devices and custom events. It keeps 7 days of history on Free, 30 days from Starter and 365 on Enterprise. To keep more, Base44 suggests pulling the data out through its Analytics API, or exporting custom events to a CSV file.

Deacon on a Base44 app

Deacon is an AI customer support agent that sits beside your Base44 app rather than inside it. It answers your visitors in seconds from your own docs, at any hour and in the language they write in, and nobody has to sign in first. When your docs don’t cover a question, it says it doesn’t know instead of guessing and asks for the visitor’s email. You get an email when they leave one or ask for a person, and your reply from Deacon’s dashboard appears in their chat while it’s open.

Each question your docs didn’t cover gets an Answer this button, and every answer you write becomes part of what Deacon knows, so it needs you less over time. Topics group the questions, count the people asking and label most of them, as a feature ask, a bug report, a how-to and so on, so you know what to fix and what to build next.

Deacon’s replies count against its own allowance, so they spend none of your Base44 credits. The same script counts your visitors, where they came from, your goals and your funnels, with ranges up to all time, so there’s no second script to add.

It goes into your app’s index.html, which Base44’s docs name as the place for third-party scripts. Click Dashboard, then Code, open index.html, paste the tag just before the closing body tag, then save and publish. In-app code edits start at Base44’s Starter plan, so on Base44’s Free plan you ask the AI chat to add the tag instead. Add your base44.app address or your own domain to Deacon’s list of allowed domains, and Deacon and Base44 has the rest of the steps.

Every feature is on every Deacon plan. Free is 50 answers a month and 1 seat, with no card and no end date. Starter is $50 a month, or $40 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 answers a month and 3 seats. Growth is $150 a month, or $120 a month billed yearly, for 4,000 answers a month and 10 seats. Nothing is billed past a plan’s answers, no plan upgrades itself, and there’s no “powered by” line to pay to remove.

Questions about Base44 pricing

Is Base44 free?

Yes. Base44’s Free plan costs nothing and includes 25 message credits a month, at most 5 a day, 100 integration credits and up to 5 apps, and Base44 says you can ship complete apps on it. What it holds back is room to build, a custom domain, private apps and removing the badge.

How much does Base44 cost a month?

Starter is $20 a month billed monthly, or $16 billed yearly. Builder is $50 or $40, Pro $100 or $80 and Elite $200 or $160. Base44 says most app creators land on Starter.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly Base44 billing?

From monthly to yearly, yes, at any time. What you’ve paid for the current month comes off the yearly price, and your credits don’t reset when you switch. From yearly to monthly you can’t switch yourself, because yearly fees are non-cancellable, though Base44’s billing docs say support looks at mistakes case by case.

Do Base44 credits roll over?

No. Base44’s credits docs say unused monthly credits expire at the end of your credit cycle and don’t carry over. On Free, the daily allowance of 5 resets each midnight, but only while you have monthly credits left.

Can I buy more Base44 credits?

Not at a published price. Base44’s credits page says to wait for your reset or upgrade. It does give a few away. Sharing your project on LinkedIn or X earns 20 message credits once, though Base44 says that’s still rolling out, and its referral programme gives a friend 30 credits at sign-up, then you 30 when they publish their first app and 100 when they upgrade.

Which Base44 plan do I need for a custom domain?

Starter or above, since 11 August 2026. The free domain for a year comes only with Builder, Pro or Elite billed yearly, so on Starter you buy a domain or bring your own.

Does Base44 have a student discount?

Yes. Students, teachers and staff at academic institutions get 50% off Starter or Builder once they verify a school email, for up to 12 months billed monthly or the first year billed yearly. It covers personal subscriptions, not team workspaces. Base44’s pricing FAQ adds education and non-profit pricing case by case.

Who owns Base44?

Wix does. Wix announced its acquisition of Base44 on 18 June 2025, calling it “a powerful new arm to Wix’s AI portfolio”.

Does Deacon use my Base44 credits?

No. Deacon counts only its own answers, and a page view never uses one. Its free plan has 50 answers a month with no card, and it works on your base44.app address, so you don’t need a paid Base44 plan to add it.
