Botpress pricing plans, packs and monthly bills
Botpress’s Free, Plus and Team plans read on 23 September 2026, what counts as a conversation, the packs it adds at 95% and what a month really costs.
Published
Botpress charges by the conversation. Plus is $189 a month, or $150 a month billed yearly, for 250 conversations and $25 of AI usage. Team is $939 a month, or $750 a month billed yearly, for 1,500 conversations and $150 of AI usage, and Enterprise is priced by sales. Free costs nothing and gives you 25 conversations, with no top-ups. Past a paid plan’s allowance, Botpress adds packs of 100 conversations, at $65 on Plus and $50 on Team, from 95% of your quota, and you can’t turn that off. Every figure here was read on Botpress’s own pages on 23 September 2026, and each one links there.
These plans started on 14 May 2026, for workspaces created after that date, Botpress says, and older workspaces keep their old pricing. Many pages that rank for this search, and Botpress’s own Academy lesson on pricing, still describe the old plans, which counted incoming messages and charged AI usage separately.
Deacon is ours. It’s an AI customer support agent for founders who answer support themselves, and there’s no bot to build. It answers your customers from your own docs in seconds and shows you what they’re stuck on and what they want next. It counts one thing, never bills past your plan and never buys anything on your behalf. The free plan needs no card.

Each plan adds more than conversations. Free and Plus have 3 seats, and Free is limited to 3 AI agents. Plus takes the Botpress branding off your chat widget, allows unlimited AI agents, puts your Help Center on your own domain and adds technical support by live chat. Team adds unlimited seats, teams, routing and permissions, team analytics and building together in real time. Enterprise adds the voice channel, dedicated support, an uptime SLA, a security review and custom storage. Botpress Desk, its helpdesk, and WhatsApp are ticked on every plan, Free included, and the prices are the same whether you build in Desk, Studio, Viber or the ADK.
Storage has its own limits. Free holds 1,000 table rows, 100 MB of vector storage for your knowledge base and 100 MB of files, with no add-ons. Plus holds 100,000 rows, 1 GB and 10 GB, and Team 500,000 rows, 5 GB and 50 GB. On either, $40 a month adds 100,000 rows, 1 GB of vector storage and 10 GB of files. Botpress also sells Built For You, a service in which its team builds and runs your agents, listed at $1,650 a month in its May 2026 post.
Botpress’s free plan, described three ways
Botpress’s own pages don’t agree on what Free gives you.
- The Free card on the pricing page says “25 conversations” and “No top-ups or overages”, with 3 seats. Plus’s card says “250 conversations/mo”, but Free’s gives no period, so it doesn’t say whether the 25 come back each month.
- The same page’s structured data, the description written for search engines, gives Free 25 conversations and 1 seat.
- Botpress’s May 2026 post lists Free at 100 conversations, again with no period. A comment in the pricing page’s code, which visitors never see, calls Free’s “100 convos” a “one-time trial allotment, not a monthly allowance”, and the page’s calculator never recommends Free.
So plan on Free as a place to build and test, not a plan to answer customers on every month. It needs no card, Botpress’s home page says. We couldn’t find what a visitor sees once a Free agent has used its conversations. Botpress’s workspace docs, still written for the older message quota, say an agent “will stop responding” once that quota is used.
What Botpress counts as a conversation
Botpress’s pricing FAQ counts “any exchange with at least two messages from the end user in the billing month”. The rest of its answer is where the count grows.
- A visitor who asks one question and leaves isn’t counted, because that’s one message.
- A conversation that runs across the end of a month counts in both months.
- Each anonymous session counts on its own, so a visitor who comes back without signing in can count again.
- A conversation your team handles in Botpress Desk counts the same as one the AI handles.
- So does every conversation in the emulator, the chat you test your agent in.
- On voice, which is Enterprise only, 3 minutes of a call count as 1 conversation.
The second meter, AI usage
Every conversation includes $0.10 of AI usage, “covered by us”, Botpress says, and that’s where Plus’s $25 and Team’s $150 come from. AI usage is what the model costs Botpress, for writing replies, searching your knowledge base and anything else the AI does, and a bigger model spends it faster.
Run past it and Botpress buys more for you. When a paid workspace reaches 95% of its AI spend limit, it buys “a $10 credit grant of AI spend on your behalf, sold at cost”. Unlike conversation packs, grants don’t expire at the end of the month, and what’s left carries over for up to 12 months. You can’t change the $10 or the 95% yet, and the FAQ says a monthly spend cap is “coming soon”. Free doesn’t get these automatic grants.
Botpress’s May 2026 post says there’s “No more AI Spend as a separate charge”, because AI is now bundled into every plan. That holds up to the included amount. Past it, the pricing page’s FAQ still describes the $10 grants.
What happens at Botpress’s limit
On a paid plan, “You never get cut off,” Botpress’s FAQ says, and it explains what happens instead.
- At 95% of your quota, a pack of 100 conversations is added, at $65 on Plus or $50 on Team.
- You’re told at 75% and 100% of your quota, and on every pack purchase. The May 2026 post says 80% and 90% instead.
- A pack stays on your plan every month until you remove it in billing settings.
- Conversations a pack doesn’t use expire at the end of the month.
The FAQ asks “Can I turn off auto-recharge for conversation packs?” and answers “No. Pausing conversations means pausing the product entirely.” Botpress argues that billing by the conversation keeps the bill predictable, because “you know your monthly cost before the month starts”. That’s true of the base price. The packs are what move.

Here’s what Plus costs at the volumes a founder’s site sees. Botpress doesn’t say how packs are counted after the first, so the pack counts are our reading of its FAQ, a pack each time the month reaches 95% of the conversations paid for so far. We assume the AI usage stays inside the $0.10 a conversation.
| Conversations in the month | Packs added | Plus on monthly billing | Plus billed yearly |

Three things stand out.
The first pack arrives before the allowance runs out. 95% of 250 is 237.5, so by our reading of the FAQ, the 238th conversation buys it, and a month of 240 costs $65 more than a month of 230. Botpress’s own price slider only adds a pack past 250, so for a month just under a boundary it shows one pack fewer than our reading of the FAQ.
Packs stay. After a month of 500, the next month starts with three packs on the bill, $384 on monthly billing, however quiet it turns out, until you remove them in billing settings.
Team costs more than Plus at every volume in the table. By our reading of the pack rule, it only becomes the cheaper plan past about 1,280 conversations a month on monthly billing, or about 1,090 billed yearly, so a founder moves to Team for its seats and routing rather than to save money. And if your agent’s conversations cost more than $0.10 each in AI usage, add $10 for each grant Botpress buys.
What Deacon costs a founder answering support
Deacon is an AI customer support agent for founders who handle support themselves, and there’s no bot to build or publish. Add one script tag, or give the prompt on the Install page to a coding agent such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, then point Deacon at your help pages, files or pasted text. It answers your customers in seconds, day or night, in the language they write in.
The prices are on the pricing page. The free plan gives you 50 answers a month, one seat and about 67 pages of docs, with no card and no end date, and nothing on it is deleted if you go quiet. Starter is $50 a month, or $40 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 answers and 3 seats. Growth is $150 a month, or $120 a month billed yearly, for 4,000 answers and 10 seats. A conversation takes about 2 answers, so that’s about 25, 500 and 2,000 conversations a month. Every feature is on every plan, the free one included, and the plans differ only in answers, knowledge, crawled pages and seats.
There’s one meter, and it counts only Deacon’s own replies. An answer is one reply Deacon writes on your live site, and every plan answers with the same model, so there’s no second meter for the AI. Your test chats in the Playground are never counted, and nor are chats from localhost. Once you reply in a conversation, nothing in it counts against your answers until you hand it back to Deacon, and the visitor’s messages still reach you after the month’s answers are used up.
Nothing is bought on your behalf. No plan bills past its answers or upgrades itself, so there’s nothing to remove from next month’s bill. Your team’s owners get an email when 80% of the month’s answers are used, and again at 100%. After that, visitors get a short reply saying Deacon can’t look into it right now and are asked for their email, unless they’ve already left it, and you can still reply to every conversation. There’s no “powered by” line on any plan, so there’s no badge to pay to remove.
When your docs don’t cover a question, Deacon says it doesn’t know instead of guessing, and asks for the visitor’s email. You get an email when they leave one or ask for a person. Each question your docs didn’t cover waits in your dashboard with an Answer this button, and the answer you write becomes part of what Deacon knows. Save & check shows you the reply Deacon now gives and how many other open questions your answer covers, so it gets better the more you answer and needs you less.
Deacon also shows you what your customers need. Every conversation is saved and searchable by what visitors asked. Topics group their questions, count the people who asked and label most of them as a how-to, a feature ask, a bug report and so on, so you know what to fix and what to build next. The same script runs your website analytics, with visitors, sources, goals and funnels.
Which one fits you
If your customers write to you on WhatsApp, you want a helpdesk, or you want an agent that takes real actions such as refunds and account updates, Botpress is built for that, and Plus is where most small teams start. Budget for the packs, because they arrive at 95% and they stay.
If you answer support yourself and want answers on your website rather than a bot to build, Deacon is made for you. It answers your customers from your docs in seconds, hands you only the questions that need you, and shows you what they’re stuck on and what they want next. Every feature is on the free plan, and it needs no card.

Questions about Botpress pricing
Is Botpress free?
You can start free, with no card. The Free card gives you 25 conversations, 3 seats and 3 AI agents, with no top-ups or overages. It doesn’t say whether the 25 renew each month, and Botpress’s May 2026 post lists Free at 100 conversations, so treat Free as a place to build rather than a plan to run on.
Can I stop Botpress adding conversation packs?
No. Its FAQ answers that question with “No”, because “pausing conversations means pausing the product entirely”. You’re warned at 75% and 100% of your quota, and a pack you don’t want next month has to be removed in billing settings.
Why do other sites quote different Botpress prices?
Botpress changed its pricing on 14 May 2026. Before that it counted incoming messages and charged AI usage separately, and pages written earlier, including Botpress’s own Academy lesson on pricing, still describe that. Workspaces created before 14 May keep the old pricing, and new ones get the plans on this page.
Do test conversations count on Botpress?
Yes. Botpress’s FAQ says emulator conversations count the same as real ones, so testing your agent spends your allowance.
Does Deacon answer on WhatsApp?
No. Deacon answers in a chat widget on your website, and you reply from its dashboard. It has no WhatsApp, voice or SMS channel, no ticketing and no helpdesk, and it takes no actions in other systems, such as refunds. If you need those, Botpress has them.
What counts as an answer on Deacon?
One reply Deacon writes on your live site, including one saying it doesn’t know. A turn that failed isn’t counted, and nor are chats in the Playground or from localhost, or anything in a conversation you’ve taken over. A conversation takes about 2 answers, measured across 1,053 conversations on 22 September 2026.
